Privacy notice

A short notice, because the site does very little. No accounts, no forms, no advertising network, no behavioural profiling, and a small number of third parties that see a request when your browser makes one.

The short version

This site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no login, no comment system, no newsletter and no forms. It does not set cookies of its own, it does not run analytics, and it does not carry advertising or any advertising identifier.

If you read a page and do nothing else, the only record created is the ordinary server log entry described below.

Server logs

Like any web server, the host records requests. A log line typically contains the address the request came from, the time, the page requested, the response code, and the browser identification string your browser sends. This is standard operational data used to keep the site running and to identify abuse.

These logs are not used to build a profile of anybody, are not combined with any other source, and are not sold, shared or transferred to anyone for marketing purposes. They are retained for a short operational period and then discarded.

Third parties involved in loading a page

Three things load from outside this domain. Each one means your browser makes a request to that provider, and that provider can see the request in the same ordinary way that any web server can.

  • A stylesheet and script bundle for the layout framework and its icon set, delivered from a public content delivery network.
  • Web fonts, delivered from a public font service.
  • Nothing else. There are no tracking pixels, no embedded video, no social widgets, no chat tools, no session recording and no tag manager.

These providers operate under their own policies, which this desk does not control. If you would rather not make those requests at all, a content blocker will stop them and the site will still be entirely readable, because none of the content depends on them.

Links to other sites

Pages here link to protocol documentation, block explorers, regulator websites and, where the subject is commercial tooling, to vendor pages. Following a link takes you to a site with its own privacy practices and its own data handling, and this desk has no visibility into or control over what happens there.

Links to commercial destinations are placed where they are relevant to what a paragraph is about. They are not tracked, they carry no identifiers or campaign parameters, and no information about you travels with them.

Email

If you write to the address on the contact page, the message and your address sit in an inbox until the message has been dealt with, and are then deleted. They are not added to any list, because there is no list, and they are not passed to anybody.

Please do not send private keys, seed phrases or account credentials to that address, or to any address. Nothing here could require them.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. It knowingly collects nothing from anybody, which includes them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. In practice there is almost nothing here to act on: no accounts exist, no profiles are built, and the only material that could identify you is an email you chose to send, which can be deleted on request.

To ask about any of this, write to the address on the contact page and say what you want to know.

Changes

If this notice changes, the changed version replaces this one at the same address, and the change is made when it happens rather than announced in advance. Nothing here is backdated. What the desk covers and how it works is described in about this desk.
